Yesterday, my husband and I were on the second day of a drive from Maine to North Carolina and we heard a sudden screeching noise like something was dragging under the car. We pulled off the highway randomly in Hanover, Maryland. After stopping at the gas station nearest the highway, we looked under the car and saw nothing. We called the closest auto repair shop, not even looking at Google reviews or anything. We were on hold for a while so we decided to hang up to get some gas and then try to call back. Eric called us back immediately! We had no connection to this shop and were completely stressed , and already it was a mark in the “win” column that they cared enough about the person who had called in to call them back when the hold time went on for a little while (we mentioned that to him later, and he told us that he considered it a sign of disrespect to not respect the customer who is on hold and call them back immediately!)… anyhow, we drove the 3/4 of a mile down the street with the sound coming once and then disappearing. Eric got us up on a lift right away and said that he was stumped because there was nothing dragging under the car. So he took it for a drive and he heard the noise, brought it back, Put it back up on the lift-nothing! But Eric was so persistent, he and his colleagues checked the car all over, drove it a couple more times and finally were able to diagnose something that we had never seen before (and they had seen so rarely that it wasn’t on their immediate radar)-which was an emergency break that was in several metal pieces around the right rear wheel. They checked the other emergency brake and determined it was safely still connected to itself and connected to the car, then disconnected and put the remains of our other emergency break into a box for us to bring back to Maine. This really felt like a Car Talk stumper, and Eric was SO amazing, and kind and friendly! We got back on the road and arrived in NC with a great story. 100% the BEST repair experience!

Dropped my car off for a brake line flush and an oil change. Pricing was reasonable and I was fine for a short while. A VERY short while. I think I went like 20 miles before my car just died while going 50mph. Luckily there was a gas station nearby with a shop, so I just pushed my car there. They said I had no transmission fluid. They said my engine is very likely done. When I called Advanced Auto, nobody knew what happened. No accountability. My car was fine before bringing it in, and suddenly I have no transmission fluid. It's obvious that some idiot drained my transmission fluid instead of my oil and nobody wants to take the blame. The manager did nothing about it. He said verbatum, "somebody messed up but it wasn't us". According to the gas station mechanic, no car will last more than a few miles without transmission fluid. I called several other shops in the area and the consensus was the same. So Advanced Auto clearly messed up and are not owning up to it. I will be contacting my lawyer about this.

This is an A1 auto shop. They've taken care of my Mercedes multiple times and provide a very detailed diagnosis to give clarity on what work is needed. They always include videos and photos, which is very helpful!

We will be contacting the better business bureau we took the car to the shop on three separate occasions a used car we recently got. They were sending us out the door with a car we assumed was fixed just so we could bring it back in another week. We brought the car there 3 times in a month. The receptionist isn’t rude, everyone in the shop seems to be conveniently ‘out’ and giving us the run around. This shop is very inconsistent it seems when it comes to customer experiences. I highly advise that people take caution when thinking of this shop and their services.
