I'm a certified Yanmar dealer mechanic and worked for the US Navy for 34 years where I often did emergency repairs after hours and in faraway places as well as training midshipmen on maintaining their diesel engines on their sail training craft. But now that I'm retired with back issues I rely on one shop for my heavy mechanical repairs. That is Annaptown Import Services.

Despite my vehicle being a real pain in the butt. They were so friendly & helpful and explained everything that was being done & needs to be done. Fred really knows vintage cars, especially VWs. I needed some machine work while in the middle of rebuilding my Bug front end. He took my parts and had the work done on one day. Price was great too. Very friendly and helpful to the vintage guys. The only place I would take my VWs.

I have used Fred for years and he has been a wealth of knowledge, he truly is a Mechanics Mechanic. I hold a degree in automotive technology from back in the 70's and Fred has what it takes to tackle any really difficult diagnostic and repair. He is also easy to talk to and will take time to explain the problem, cause and cost in detail. He seems to love the older cars and has apparently quite a few customers who bring their classic cars to be worked on. He specializes in old VW's and the VW Van's, but I think he is really very qualified for any repair. He has helped me with several problems with my Mercedes Benz E420 (1997) and my old 735IL BMW (1991)

Fred is an excellent mechanic and the customer service is great. It's not everyday you meet a mechanic that knows so much but can still be down to earth.i saved a lot of money as compared to going to the Mercedes Benz dealership.
