The facility itself is fantastic. Well-stocked, many useful stations, great equipment. The staff is largely elderly, cranky, and demeaning. The younger volunteer staff are better at helping out if you need anything. Prices are reasonable, but you need to get here 30 mins before opening if you want any real shot at getting a bay. The Annapolis MWR auto skills center has fewer bays and less equipment but the prices there are cheaper and the staff is much more customer service oriented. And you can actually get tires done there -- the Fort Meade center has all the equipment for tire mounting and balancing and even an alignment rack, but won't perform the service and won't let you do it yourself. At the very least they should stop listing those services on their site and stop the false advertising or hire someone who can actually provide the services they offer.

Great place to do work on your vehicle. I had everything I needed to change my transmission pan. They even help out when you run into issues

My initial experience at this shop was negative due to the conduct of an elderly employee who was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. His repeated berating tone is concerning, especially in a customer service role on a military installation. I am considering raising this issue through proper command channels, as this behavior does not reflect the standards expected when serving military personnel. If one is able to get past this individual’s unfriendly and curt manner, the shop itself appears to be decent. However, the customer experience is significantly impacted by his behavior.

The shop is great, for sure. Plenty of tools are at your disposable. However, a certain employee there will ruin your whole vibe. He gets MAD easily at the slightest of things! I've been going for quite a time, and he always seem's pissy; if not at me, other people... He sorta just stares at you when you first check in for a bay, no friendly gestures. Nothing. When asking for availability if there are no bays. He'll look at you like you're stupid. You'll have to force him to say something, at which point you can finally give him your phone number and they'll call you. Negative out of the way, there are some very kind workers there that are happy to help you. No complaints whatsoever with them. Some missing equipment here and there, which is fine. I tend to bring my own tools anyway. Air impact wrench works wonders. And lifts work great on my lowered car. Introductory safety class was short and sweet with a kind old fellow. All in all, nice shop but please just treat people with respect.

I have to say that what Gabriel Garcia said is "spot on". Get the orientation class. Having your car on a lift cannot be beat. There are a HUGE amount of tools that are provided (at each bay) with many more available to be checked out. I love that they handle the disposal of waste engine oil and oil filters. Bring your own cooler full of water/gatorade/whatever (no alcohol!). It can be hot there in the summer. This place is a wonderful resource for anyone that wants to and can maintain their own car and not have to pay current commercial rates. Anyone would be lucky to be able to use this location.
