I recently bought a used car from Mr. Bogley and was very pleasantly surprised at his honesty and how up front he is about everything when financing. He made everything work out for me and I got a great deal on the car! I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend Bogley’s to anyone looking for a reliable used car for a good price. On top of all of this, he made the process quick and easy. Nothing like any other dealership I’ve been to. He is a Veteran and he is blunt so just make sure you are prepared for his no-nonsense attitude (which I appreciated). I think the negative reviews on here are most likely just from people who went in and made lowball offers on vehicles and weren’t happy that they were told no. Expect to pay what’s on the tag and don’t haggle here. The prices are already very fair.

Went to Bogleys to get a truck, for the second time. Had purchased a ford from him a few years ago and while extremely unpleasant to deal with, as many of the other reviews say, the truck was good. So I decided to go back again. Saw a nice looking ford ranger. Although it was super overpriced I got it. Needed a truck super fast so I went ahead and purchased it. The following day I had bent over to pick something up and noticed a gas leak coming from underneath the truck. When I say leak, it was a steady stream of fuel coming out. I thought maybe it was something that only happened when the tank was full, so maybe someone missed it. The tank was just a hair above empty. Filled the tank, and it continued to leak. All good I thought. Surely if I take it back and explain the situation he will understand and get it fixed. I was greeted with a “what do you want”. After I explained it to him, and had to reassure him that it indeed was a gas leak. I dropped it off. Got a call that day and said it was fixed. Drove it to work, the leak was even worse. So I said screw it, I’m going to take it to my mechanic. My mechanic was in shock. He said there is no way this could or should have passed inspection. Was incredibly dangerous for me to drive, and there were multiple other non passing issues he saw just around the gas tank. I called Bodley and explained what my mechanic saw, got a ride to his office and showed the paper work from my mechanic. His answer was for me to drive a vehicle that is actively leaking gas from walkersville to thurmont, and give it back to the mechanic who had “fixed it” before. I ended up keeping it with my mechanic. 650$ later and the fuel leak, along with a few other small issues have been fixed. BE CAREFUL shopping with this man. That was an incredibly dangerous issue and should have been caught/fixed immediately. Instead I was yelled at, and fixed the issue out of pocket. The proper authorities for this have been contacted and an investigation will be taking place. If this passed inspection through him, I don’t even want to think what else is out there on the road.

Wow very disappointing. I would highly recommend for people to stay away from this guy. First off the old guy (owner) very rude and unprofessional, considering he swore multiple times at us. Bad businessman. Started off by me driving 1.5 hours to his place to meet him in the morning at 9am. Arrived there and the guy didn’t even introduce himself or greet me. The truck I was looking at was disgusting and was completely dirty on the inside and outside with a bag of trash in it. Didn’t even take the time to make it look half decent. The truck looked nothing like the pictures in the listing. He then went on to say “let’s hurry this up I have a meeting at 10am” trying to rush us into buying the truck. I had a car to trade in that was flawless and he said “alright let’s see what kinda junk you’re trying to give me” and then test drove my car. As a Pa inspection mechanic I started looking over the truck and found multiple things that would’ve failed an Pa inspection but it did in fact have a Pa inspection sticker on it which was done 11/23 so something sketchy was going on with that. The main one was a major exhaust leak and the other was 0/32 brake pad life in the rear. Test drove the truck and felt like the wheels were going to fall off. Truck had no power and the clutch grabbed about 80% out. Went back to talk to him to maybe see if he knock 1000$ off so that I would be able to fix these safety concerns and I didn’t even have any time to say what I wanted to say before he started swearing at me and telling me how much of his time I’ve wasted considering I drove 1.5hrs away to meet this joke of a salesperson. Gave him a 500$ deposit and he was so stuck on saying “I’m keeping the 500$ you gave me” which 500$ is what I wipe my you know what with. I’m sure he needs it considering he’s had the same cars on his lot for years. Told him how this is bad for his business and he started swearing at me again and getting smart with me. I’ve read other negative reviews on this guy after the fact of going there and all these other people are right. This guy will try to screw you over big time. I’m pretty sure he didn’t like the fact that I knew what I was talking about and that he couldn’t screw me over. Bogleys is a scam and will always be one. Hopefully the auditors will check out his garage soon.

The staff was very nice. I really like the truck that I bought. But after two weeks found out the oil dipstick was busted in half. I was supposed to have a warranty for the driveline when I called they said that has nothing to do with Maryland inspection so beware of the warranty. Mr. Bogley called me back. I was willing to pay $100 towards the repair of the truck. I want to thank him for his honesty.

I hardly ever leave reviews, but when I do they are always positive. This will be my first negative review. The people I dealt with were nice enough and helpful. The problem is the pick-up truck they sold me has had numerous problems during the year I have owned it. This includes needing a new alternator, battery issues being drained by the radio, over heating issues, and extensive rust damage among others. The rust damage is the real issue. I have had three different repair shops tell me that there was no way Bogley didn't know or at least should have known about the rust issues. Basically, the truck has so much rust that it can't pass Pennsylvania inspection and I am now left with deciding to either junk the truck or spend thousands of dollars correcting the rust issues. . I understand that used vehicles can have issues and I can excuse the alternator, battery and over heating issues but this much rust was either known by Bogley or Bogley was completely derelict in looking over the truck. I should have known there was issues when I looked at the truck and it had a heavy coat of under coating. I accept some responsibility for not questioning it more, but I expect some level of honesty even if it is a used car dealer. I will never buy anything form them again and would never recommend them.
