I bought a very nice MGB from Cecil. The car was serviced well and runs great. No pressure sale and negotiations were easy. So far, the car is everything he said it would be. No doubt that I would have him service it or buy another car from him in the future.

I took my Fiat to Cecil about 2 years ago, after it was sideswiped on the side of the road. He took the job on as an insurance job. The steering was locked, which he diagnosed as needing a new steering column. In the process he disconnected the working ignition cylinder, without marking the wires, and then was not able to rewire it correctly. A year later, after months of being unable to reach him, I went by his shop to find out what was going on. He still hadn't finished the vehicle, so I asked for it, and my money back. He promised to send a check to me. No check was ever sent. He just took the ~$1350, completed 1/10th of the work, and then refused to answer any texts or emails afterwards, then did not keep his word to return the money. Ironically, the ignition cylinder did not even need to be replaced. There is a clear and easy process in the shop manual for how to remove it from the steering column, which I could have told Cecil if he had answered any of my texts or returned my calls. If he had marked the wires, it would have been easy to rewire. After trying myself and burning out a new ignition cylinder, I am selling the car now. In my opinion you should not trust this shop with your business, or Cecil with your money. I wish I hadn't.

I brought my classic Triumph TR6 to British Restoration expecting professional service and clear communication. What I got instead was a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience. Cecil charged me over $7,000, yet several critical issues were left unresolved: • Brake lights, signal lights not working • Fuel gauge stopped working • Main beam and trafficator indicators on the dash don’t work • Wipers and washer system are non-functional • Fog lights not working • Speaker panels are lose • Driver door paint is chipped (granted I saw this coming as the door had been repaired previously, but it takes careless handling to have chipped it) Despite multiple attempts to follow up, Cecil became completely unresponsive. No explanation, no accountability. I believed in this shop and paid a premium expecting a quality restoration—I regret that decision now. If you’re considering trusting your classic car to Britsh Restoration, think twice. I wouldn’t recommend this shop to anyone looking for honest, complete, and reliable work.

Cecil sold me my MG several years ago, and has kept it in top condition ever since. Wholeheartedly recommend.

I have a 1967 Morgan Plus 4. I had been trying to sort out a problem of intermittent hesitation that had plagued the car and no one could seem to find the problem. Cecil took the car and carefully went through a thorough diagnostic. He consulted with others and solved the problem, tuned the car, made other enhancements to assure fuel flow, and it has never run better. What I like about Cecil is that he does not give up or take short cuts. He may want your car for some time, but when completed you will be happy and it is money well spent...especially where reliability is always a concern for classics.
