I had such a great experience at Charlie & Ray’s Auto Repair. From the very first interaction, the front desk staff is ALWAYS super nice, friendly, and accommodating. They take the time to clearly explain what is recommended, what is needed, and what routine maintenance should be done on my car. What I really appreciate is that they don’t just explain everything — they also provide photos of what the mechanics find and send you a link to review and keep for your records. That level of transparency makes a huge difference. For me, it has always been hard to find a reliable auto repair shop that I can truly trust with my car. This is now my go-to shop and will be for the future. If you’re on the hunt for a great place, don’t hesitate — just give them a call. My name is Paul. I didn't actually have any work work done at this shop but I will say that the guy Jim that I spoke to gave me valuable and honest information that saved me about $15,000 because of a loop hole i didn't know about Maxcare coverage from Camax. A tow truck driver ruined my transmission by towing my all wheel drive Infinity QX55 on 2 wheels. It basically destroyed my transmission and Jim was nice enough and honest with me to tell me that it's possible that the Maxcare coverage i have (that would normally replace my transmission) could possibly be voided and that would hold me responsible for the cost of a new or rebuilt Transmissioninstead of my Maxcare coverage paying for it... I was lucky because my car was still under the mileage for the manufacturer warranty to cover my repairs so the dealer said they would replace it with no cost to me. A new transmission for this car is between $8000 -$15000 dollars...i was not prepared to pay thatmuch money right after Christmas... Had Jim not told me about this information I would never have investigated this and I would be stuck paying for a transmission that is almost 50% of the price that I paid for the car. Then I would've had to sue the tow company for damaged and only God knows how much of a mess that could've turned into... I'm extremely thankful to Jim. I initially took the car to Jim Jennings in Essex Md then had to tow it to the dealer in Timonium for the work to be done and Jim only had nice things to say about them as well... He even told me that i had the car in a good place and he had good dealings with JimJennings Transmission in the past. So all I can say is that Jim at Charlie & Rays will be the first guy I call in the future should I have any issues with my car that the warranty doesn't cover. It's nice to know that there are still mechanics out here doing honest business with people like myself that don't know enough about cars to not be swindled by some dishonest mechanic that just wants to hit you pockets. So if you're looking for someone to take care of you and whether you are knowledgeable about vehicles or not, at least you know if you take your car to Charlie & Rays auto shop you will get someone to be straight with you and give you honest advise that could be beneficial to you. Hopefully i won't need any repairs anytime soon but if I do then Jim at Charlie & Rays will definitely be the first call on my list. That way I'll know what my real issues are and I'll get a honest evaluation of my car troubles. Thanks again Jim and keep up the great work. I hope you know by doing what you did for me that I'll be referring anyone I know to at least call you guys first if they have any trouble with their vehicle. I don't know about their prices but I do know that if they are honest with me about my troubles then I can probably count on the prices to be honest as well...

This is not my first time taking my car to Charlie & Ray’s . I would highly recommend them for auto repairs . The whole team is always great , very flexible willing to work with you if needed , great communication . They also get all repairs done in a timely fashion.

I was recommended by my coworker’s friend to Charlie and Ray’s, and figured I’d try them out. I had a ton of work done by them today—several mechanical issues I’d neglected/wasn’t aware of because I hadn’t had a regular mechanic in a while—and I had a great experience. James, Lisa, and Jim were all kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating, even going as far as to shuttle me while my car was being worked on. They did a tire repair for free for me as well, which was kind of them. The digital explanation of possible repairs and things needing fixed was very informative, and I’ve never come across that before. I really appreciated seeing what they saw, and they gave me the option of approving or denying each suggestion. I’ve definitely found my new mechanic, and would recommend them to everyone. My car runs like a dream now.

I usually do my own work so I was nervous trying to find a shop around that didnt have a bad track record. I will say I am thoroughly impressed with my entire experience with this shop. They were quick to diagnose and repair what needed to be repaired. All for a pocket friendly price. The employees are very nice, honest, and easy to work with. As long as Charlie and Ray's is there they will be my go to for all my automotive needs. Highly recommend this place to anyone. They are thorough and know what they're doing. Save yourself the headache of trying to find a good shop in the area and just take it to charlie and rays. You wont be disappointed.
