I purchased my Tiguan following getting rid of my Jetta for two reasons: 1) I love VW, and 2) I had a shop I TRULY trusted to do quality work, be fair, and not rip me off (I’m not a car guy). I encourage you to call the dealership, figure out what is needed, and what potential costs may be. But immediately after, call Desmond’s for a second opinion. The staff across the board are kind, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about most all VW offerings.

Went here for an epc and transmission error that was on my dash, asked for a diagnostic check. They came back and reported that my solenoid in my transmission was failing and that I needed a new transmission because rebuilt solenoids don't exist, which is fair. They also stated that the continuity of my wires were fine and that was not the problem. I decided to get a second opinion on this issue by taking it to another shop. the other shop came back and told me that my solenoids were fine and that they tested it by applying power to my solenoids and checking the resistance. The issue were my wires, they were not connecting to ground, which is the opposite of what this shop had found. I get my car back and it's running fine. I explained this situation to these guys and told them I did not expect them to read a code and tell me that's the root cause, I expected a process of elemination. they were not reluctant of giving me my money back which is great, however, being quoted over 3k for a new transmission is not a nice feeling when this could have been avoided with good technician work.

Excellent service. They got me in and out on the same day with no appointment. Fair price and didn't try to up sell anything unnecessary. This was my first time at Desmond's but they will be my shop from now on.

Ray and Desmond's are the top notch, especially for aircooled VW work. After another shop completely trashed my engine attempting a rebuild, Ray took the time to find the right parts that worked best with what was salvageable from my existing engine. No more oil leaks or knocks. Engine is super smooth and has awesome power. I've dealt with three other aircooled shops in the area for various repairs and they are by far the best. Super honest and super fair pricing. I will definitely be returning for service when needed! I cannot speak highly enough of this shop.
