We were stranded in Frederick, MD on a Thursday night due to our 2004 Subaru Outback alternator belt failure while driving westbound on I-70 from the Baltimore Beltway to Leesburg, VA. It was raining heavily and our battery would not last the addition 40 minute drive to VA, with Frederick being the only safe place to stop in between. We found a hotel and contacted our insurance to have the Outback towed to a nearby auto repair shop. On Friday morning we called the shop only to learn two of the 3 mechanics were out due to illness. The owner recommended Doug's Automotive Services (nearby). I contacted Doug's and spoke to Julia who took our situation to heart. She spoke to Doug, who gladly drove the Subaru to his shop. within 1.5 hours of our conversation, Julie sent us an estimate to replace the belt and two pulleys tag failed and caused the belt to shred. A picture of the primary failed pulley was included (bearings were obviously missing) to support the required repair (we were also shown the pulley when we picked the Subaru up). Their total price was very fair too! We stopped for lunch at the White Rabbit (highly recommend this place too!!!) and when we finished lunch at 12:30, we received a text that the Subaru was ready for pick up. That's 4 hours from our initial call. When arrived at the shop, we were treated like long standing customers. We were on the road home at 1pm. Finally, the Subaru is running great, even quieter than before and the battery is staying charged. We cannot be more pleased with Doug's Automotive Services and how they took great care in making sure we were could quickly and safely return home on Friday. Julia, Doug, and the team will take great care of you too!

Doug’s Automotive has been incredible every step of the way. Julia is beyond knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I’m glad to have found a reputable shop that isn’t going to view me as only paycheck. Julia’s communication skills regarding work needed, pricing, and my options make bringing my equipment here a no brainer. On top of that Doug’s turnaround time on repair has been fantastic and with a small business that goes further than most would think. I will be bringing my company equipment here from now on for sure!

My car had always been serviced by the dealer. They failed to find the issue and wanted to replace parts again, at my expense. I started looking for another shop and found Doug. The reviews were great the service even better. My car has high milage and can be a challenge. The office is great and the real time updates on your service top notch. I you need your car or truck fixed and you don't go to Doug's that's you're mistake. Good service fair pricing great people!
