If I could give 0 stars I would. Why? I took my 1986 Dodge Aries Station Wagon to them on a Monday December 1st. Waited all week for parts to be brought to them just so they could do the work. Still didn't have all the parts in, but worked on the car with the parts they had. They did the exhaust work, replaced a wheel bearing and cv axle (but I still have the same friggin' hum that I had before). Asked them to do a tune up which included plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, you know the usual? I would love to know exactly how a mechanic who supposedly has the knowledge to work in a automotive shop can royally screw up a tune up on a 1986 car. It doesn't take that much of a brain to figure out that you don't put the distributor plate on 180 degrees off, which then put the distributor cap and rotor off. To get my car running, they then had to fool around with the timing which made the car pop, blow black smoke, rough idle, to the point that the hood would pop up on it's own. Their solution was the replace the PCV valve. Didn't fix the problem but they said it was running fine. Went to get the car and told them to keep it and fix it. Tuesday comes along and they said it was again running fine. Went to get it and it does nothing but the same symptoms. They can't fix a problem they created, because of their mechanic's inability or non-knowledge of a 1986 vehicle. I've had 3 other mechanics look at it. The first 2 couldn't figure out what was was wrong with it, we even replaced some of the parts that would make those symptoms appear with no solution. It took my son in law to drive from PA (134 miles) to come down and fix the tune up problem. But the engine is so carboned up that we will probably have to sell the car for parts. If you don't have the knowledge or equipment to work on old vehicles, then you should say something to the customer before taking on the job. I would love to have at least a partial refund, but probably won't get even a partial refund because as soon as that check hit the desk, it was in the pile to go to the bank. Didn't matter that our car was still sitting on the lot waiting to be fixed. Services - Replaced exhaust from manifold back, left wheel bearing, right cv axle and tune up cost me $2032.52 which included labor and parts. I had to buy new plugs again, a new O2 sensor and now will probably have to junk it. I've never had so many problems with service on a 1986 vehicle. Update: Finally got an email back from the owner, telling me there was no way that a simple tune up would cause the kind of problems on my car's engine that I detailed in my first review. That they didn't touch the distributor plate, and that the cap and wiring positions were all fine. Even told me that my husband told the mechanic that we were having intermittent starting issues. If you are going to lie about something like that, you'd better make sure that the wife isn't there listening in.

I've brought several vehicles to Hanes and have always been treated fairly, work done well, and on time. Often complex stuff they had to go way out of their way to get parts. I'm struck by the reviews here, either five star or one star. I'm in the five star camp, and all I can imagine is the unsatisfied customers may be unpleasant people themselves.

If I had a dime for every time Matt and his team have looked at my truck when it wasn’t on their schedule or for every time Matt has answered an annoying Facebook message from me trying to figure something out…. I’d be rich. The only people I feel care about my truck as much as I do are the people at Hanes. Got lucky enough one day to get there at lunch time and Nancy even offered to make lunch for me too! You’ll never find a family so kind going to chains or dealerships. I found Hanes Automotive when Matt visited my business during Covid when I first opened and I’m thankful everyday that we connected!

Matt replaced my fuel injectors in my 6.0 Ford diesel and did a excellent job. My truck runs perfect now. Will definitely recommend you bring your vehicles to Hanes
