My husband and I picked up our vehicle on 2/16/26. When we arrived, we had to wait an additional 20 minutes because another vehicle was blocking ours in, and the employee who had the keys was not present. While inconvenient, that was not the main issue. The primary concern was that the shop had replaced our front brake pads and rotors, and when we picked up the vehicle, we immediately noticed that the driver-side tire was completely flat. The car had been in the shop’s possession for four days. There were no prior issues with the tire, no slow leak, and the tire had been recently replaced. I brought this to the attention of Jeff, the first associate I spoke with. Rather than showing concern or offering assistance, he was quick to dismiss the possibility that the issue could have occurred while the vehicle was in their care. When I mentioned that perhaps the tire had been punctured during that time, his response was, “Well, what if you brought the car in here with a nail?” There was no attempt to investigate the issue, offer reassurance, or provide a solution. Jeff then involved the manager, Patrick. Unfortunately, the response was similar. Patrick immediately stated that it could not have been the shop’s responsibility. When I asked what could be done, he suggested either taking the vehicle to a tire shop down the street or leaving it there for another day so they could attempt to patch it. While I appreciated that a possible solution was eventually presented, it was neither convenient nor urgent, especially considering the damage occurred while the vehicle was in their possession. Overall, I expected a higher level of professionalism, accountability, and customer care. Instead, the situation was handled defensively, without empathy or a genuine effort to resolve the issue in a timely and customer-focused manner.

I had my car at a shop down the street where they told me I needed to replace both of my rear wheel bearings and quoteed me over $2000 for the job on my Ford Escape. I called Independent just to get a quote, and not only did they quote me around $500 less at the high end, but once I brought the car in they found I only needed ONE bearing replaced. They let me know a few other things to take care of with up front pricing, and with no pressure whatsoever. Calling Independent ensured I kept $1000+ in my pocket. Cheers to their honest business policies.

I'm new to the area and saw the great reviews for Independent so I went ahead and made an appointment. I was overdue for an oil change and thought I might need some additional work done so I asked if they could check out a handful of things for me. I feel like most places would have taken advantage of this and capitalized on my concerns but when Jeff called to give me an update, he let me know that my car wasn't due for much else this visit and that there was some optional work that I was able to decide if I wanted or not (and he told me the price upfront). He also answered my questions with patience and didn't make me feel silly for asking. I felt reassured after talking with him- and everyone I interacted with on the phone and in person was very friendly in general! I really appreciate this business's transparency, will be back, and do recommend. Thanks!
