I recently purchased a car and wanted a proper baseline checkup, and I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better mechanic than Jay. I’ve worked with many mechanics before, but I’ve never met someone as transparent, informative, and genuinely skilled as he is. From the start, Jay was extremely friendly, responsive, and easy to communicate with. What really stood out was how thorough he was. He put the car up on the lift and walked me through everything—top to bottom—showing me what was actually wrong, what wasn’t, and giving honest opinions on what needed attention now versus later. No pressure, no upselling—just straight facts and solid recommendations. During a test drive, my left tire blew (completely unintentional), and Jay immediately called me, was fully transparent about what happened, and took full responsibility by ordering brand-new tires. That level of honesty and accountability is rare and truly appreciated. After the work was finished, he even topped off my transmission and washer fluid and washed the car on the house, which was a great touch. His pricing is very fair, but more importantly, he takes the time to explain things and actually teaches you about your car along the way. Jay is clearly a hardworking, passionate professional, and he’s earned my trust completely. He will absolutely be my go-to mechanic moving forward—not just for the quality work, but also for the great energy and honesty he brings. Huge thanks to Jay and the team. Highly recommend.

Hello, to whom ever reads this, This may be a lengthy review, but I believe it's important to share my experience with Jay R Automotive from the very beginning. I initially visited the shop seeking assistance to pass the Maryland State Inspection for my 2008 Toyota Sequoia. Unfortunately, I had been scammed into purchasing this vehicle, which turned out to be a rusted-out disaster from a dealer I trusted. Struggling to find a way to pass the inspection due to significant rust underneath and an engine trouble code, I was recommended to Jay R Automotive by a friend. When I explained my situation upon walking in, I was met with exceptional kindness and helpfulness. Jay explained that he would need to put the vehicle on a lift to assess the issues and then outlined some options to ensure my safety and to legitimately pass the inspection. He replaced the rusted parts of the vehicle and fixed the engine code. Throughout the process, he kindly showed me videos and photos documenting the progress. Thanks to his expertise, my car is now running better than ever and is ready for Maryland's winter weather. I will definitely be returning to Jay R Automotive for regular maintenance and any future issues for my vehicle or my wife’s . I give my experience a 10,000 out of 10. Thank you for reading. Jay and Michael worked on my car installing my corsa extreme exhaust with no muffler. Did an amazing job putting it on and installing it. Their work is very detail and are cautious with customers car. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to do work on their car!!!

I call Jay last minute with a thermostat issue with my car, he was pretty busy but was able to squeeze me in. Not only that he is 100% honest with you on parts and labor.
