I’ve been coming to Joel’s for about 10+ years, ever since my father first brought his car in for service. Since then, I’ve been a loyal, returning customer. Joel is extremely knowledgeable and always takes the time to clearly explain every issue to my family and me. He even shows us the parts that were replaced, which truly builds trust and confidence in his work. This is coming from a person with Type A personality! After moving to Frederick, I tried several local shops closer to home, but unfortunately I wasn't pleased with the work. Because of that, we continue to travel 32 miles to Rockville to have our cars serviced by Joel. The peace of mind is absolutely worth it! Now even my 18-year-old son brings his car to Joel. Recently, his 22 year old car had a major issue that made it undrivable, and he was willing to pay the extra towing cost to have it towed from Frederick to Rockville because we trust Joel that much. Most of the time, the car is ready the same day, though occasionally it may take an extra day if another issue is discovered. I actually appreciate this, I would much rather have the job done correctly than rushed and incomplete. At this point, my entire family goes to Joel, and we don’t allow anyone else to service our vehicles. His honesty, quality of work, and dedication are unmatched, and I highly recommend.

I had an issue with my car outside a supermarket, most likely a dead battery or alternator problem. I called Joel about 15 minutes before the shop was closing, and without hesitation he offered to come out to me after hours to check the problem. Joel arrived very quickly, on his own personal time, diagnosed the issue and confirmed the battery was completely dead. He jump-started my car and even left me his jumper cables until Monday so I could start the car again and safely drive to the shop to replace the battery. This level of service is not something you see every day. I’m a consistently satisfied customer because of Joel’s reliability, honesty, and genuine care, even beyond working hours. I’ve had a great experience every time I’ve come to Joel’s Automotive. The team is professional, honest, and reliable. They take the time to explain what needs to be done and never try to upsell unnecessary work. The service is always done right the first time, and at a fair price. It’s hard to find a shop you can truly trust, but this one definitely stands out. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality auto care!

I took my car in back in July with an overheating issue due to a busted coolant housing. Which they allegedly repaired. Only for the same problem, overheating, to rear its ugly head. So back in it goes, paid them for the part they missed the previous time and labor and back on the road. A couple more weeks, same issue. And now they won’t return my calls. So no, I do not recommend Joel’s. Update. Joel reached out, admitted to not receiving the messages that were left him, asked me to bring the car in. I brought the car in only to be told now is not a good day and to come back another day. I am not sure what Joel’s idea is of making things right, but this is not it. Next.

Small mechanic shop, car felt off and my regular big dealership told me it would be three weeks before they could see me. Joel told me to come drop off the car and a couple of hours later called to explain exactly what is needed to fix the issue. Price and service were honest and efficient. Got the car the same afternoon all fixed. Highly recommended
