My 2007 4runner needed brake replacement and I called around to a few shops and JRS was most helpful over the phone with clear estimates and options to lower the price. They got me in immediately. They kept me in the loop with updates and discovered one of calipers needed to be replaced. I was amazed at the cost, Toyota would've been at least 50% more and slower. I dropped my truck off, walked across the street for lunch at Outback and walked to LA Fitness to workout lol. Perfect location, excellent customer service and quality work. I highly recommend going to JRS. They will be my first option for anything auto related.

The team at JRS Auto Repair is on another level. I had an issue with the battery light coming on and left my car at another mechanic for a full week. After replacing parts and spending hundreds of dollars, the problem was still there. I brought it to JRS and from the very first call, everything was simple, clear, and honest. Renata listened patiently to my concerns, Josue followed up with updates, and Junior (the mechanic—THE man!) took the time to actually diagnose the real problem. He found damaged wiring that other shops had missed and repaired it. He even sent photos of the work. My car was fixed in a day. If you’re looking for an experienced, professional, and honest auto shop with excellent customer service, look no further. I’m grateful I found them and will definitely be coming back.

Just want to thank JRS Auto for their service, I recently got a lot of work done to pass the Maryland Vehicle Inspection. Renata was very transparent and communicated what's was necessary to pass. The price was also reasonable for the work that needed to get done. I am happy to have a reliable auto repair shop so close by!

Seem like nice people but thier business ethics aren't solid enough. After searching mechanics in the Laurel, MD area I found them with good ratings. As part of a warranty claim, I took the car thier. To help the warranty company diagnose the issue they had to do an engine tear down which cost $1100 which I since learned is excessive for a diagnosis. The warranty claim was approved however the warranty company wanted to replace the engine with a used engine with over 100k miles less than mine. JRS wouldn't allow the change because their policy is only to replace with new parts or their sourced parts which is understandable normally, however, the company provided documentation that the part was warrantied for one year. JRS response was still no. I would have to pay for the 1200 dollar diagnosis or allow them to source the part. They could not get a full engine so they sourced a part of the engine (short block) and used the rest of my remaining engine. They recieved over 4k for the engine and the warranty co and i had to pay several thousand dollars in addition. Three years later the engine is done after 50k miles. Three things from a business ethics standpoint. They are short on ethics but long on excuses to dodge accountability. 1. They should have altered their business practice and took the used engine with the understanding that they would not be responsible for any issues after installation. I suggested an agreement as such and they declined. They took advantage of the exaggerated diagnosis fee and leveraged it for the more expensive work. If I took the car to another shop, I would have to pay the other shop for a diagnosis. I absolutely understand standing on thier practice if I came to the shop asking them to replace with a used engine but they knew that wasn't the case. They already had the car with a substantial bill and politely used that leverage in describing how this option was better and I'd be left with an "almost new" engine. 2. When I took the car back a few weeks ago due to an issue, they quoted over several thousand for addition work on the 3 year old "almost new" engine. Given the issue with the car and the fact that they were unyielding about not allowing my warranty co to prove an engine, I believe a more appropriate response would have been to provide the labor if I provide the parts. 3. They charged me an additional $300 to diagnose that the 3-year almost new engine with 50k needed substantial work that I wouldn't have needed if they I stalled the used engine. To this, their replay is, something could have happened to that engine which is true but I wouldn't be out of the almost 4k that I paid them to install the short block. They seem like a nice family business, but the benefit of a small business is understanding. Big companies hide behind policies. Smaller ones should be agile enough to alter policy given the circumstances. They want to charge like small boutique shop that does exceptional work that isn't inexpensive but wants to use policy like a large retail operation. Haven't had any issues with my other cars but when/if I do, I will not work with them and absolutely wouldn't recommend them to any of my Laurel family or friends.

I would not call this shop a mechanic. They are parts changers. I scheduled a "Diagnostic " appointment to get an intermittent problem solved. After 3 weeks of hearing nothing I called to check in and they had only scanned my codes. A couple days later they figured out it was a module according to the codes. I let them know that the part had already been replaced twice. They assured me this $600 repair would fix it and they would test it thoroughly. The 1st time I drove the truck it had the same problems so I brought it back the next day. A couple days later they said my truck needed a tune up, another $600. I asked if they were sure that this was the cause . They put me on the phone with the owner and he said he didn't know the cause of my problem but he knew I needed a tune up. Id have been fine doing whatever repair it took to fix my issue but I don't want to pay shop rates to go over the entire car. He then told me I needed to get my truck and take it elsewhere. I've since done the tune up as he recommended and I still have the same issue as I started with. Im just down another $600 and a month without my vehicle.
