My husband truck had a gas tank leak. Kingville auto found the problem right away and fixed it in short time . They were extremely knowledgeable and price was reasonable. And it only took a day.

AVOID this place AT ALL costs. There's a lot of other shops in Kingsville, I would recommend going ANYWHERE else! I hate doing negative reviews and would rather resolve with the business, but Terry refuses to take accountability for damages that he acknowledges occurred while my grandfather's truck was in his care. Short story: Took over a week to have an alternator replaced and numerous calls to find out when it would be done. Arrived to pick up the truck, pay, then find the tailgate destroyed. Per the shop, tailgate "fell off", so severely damaged that it twisted the shell, and he says it's not his problem. (Tailgate has never become unlatched unexpectedly or had the check straps fail when putting down the gate in the truck's history before or since it "fell off" in his care) Longer version: Drop the truck off Tuesday to have the alternator replaced knowing that he told me he wouldn't be able to work on it until Wednesday. No call Tuesday or Wednesday, I follow up Thursday. Alternator has been replaced but says it may need a battery. I give him the green light if it needs it and he asks if I want any other work done. I asked for an oil change and if anything else stood out that needs to be addressed--funny enough, he says, "No but I did notice how straight the body of this truck is. It needs a paint job but the body is in really good shape". Friday, no call so I do, needs a battery--I tell him to again go ahead. He said he'll see if he has one in stock but if not he'll order it and have it first thing Monday morning--no problem, not in a rush to have the truck back, it's a secondary vehicle. Monday comes and goes, no call. I call Tuesday, what's going on? Truck is ready to come and get it--I apologize I won't be able to make it out so I'll be out tomorrow, no problem. Arrive Wednesday, pay the bill, walk over to the truck, and the tailgate is down--not how the truck was brought to him. I lift the tailgate up and it is SMASHED. Terry isn't in so I calmly address it with the technician. He tells me that Terry hit the brakes and the tailgate fell off. Fell off?! (1) There are check straps that hold it in place. (2) My grandfather has had this truck since it left the dealer and I've used it to haul countless loads to the landfill and have NEVER had the tailgate fall down. (3) No one bothered to tell me that the tailgate "fell off", got damaged, or even why it was down in the first place until I confronted them about it! (4) The truck arrived on a flatbed being bounced around with the tailgate up, has since been driven 50 miles (mainly to prove a point) with the tailgate UP, and never became unlatched--regular roads, speed bumps, through our yard, and even HARD braking--tailgate has yet to fall down again...what kind of "braking" causes it to just "fall off"? The tech tells me to call the shop phone and it will forward to Terry--I'm furious so I leave, drive home to let the steam blow off and have my dad take the truck to his home. I closed the gate, it latched in the factory latches, and has not come down since. Call Terry when I get home and explain the situation. He repeatedly tells me it "just fell down" when he hit the brakes, so they put it back in place and thought nothing of it. I repeatedly point out, he never chose to disclose ANY of this to me during my calls with him and that doesn't resolve the severe damage that is now done. He asks me to bring it by, I can't so I offer to send the pictures I posted below while still outside his shop--he declines and says he wants to see it. I have my father bring it by his shop this morning because he sounded reasonable enough on the phone--I receive a call less than 10 minutes after the time I told Terry he was scheduled to arrive to my father livid at how rude Terry was and that he was not willing to take ANY responsibility even though it somehow *magically* fell off in his care when he hit the brakes. He sounds nice, his business acumen and care for your vehicles is awful.

I was stranded and panicked. I googled car repair shops close to where I was and I chose this business based on its location. It was the best decision I could have made. Terry was so kind and helpful. He immediately contacted his towing guy who then called me and then a short time later I was rescued. Terry kept both myself and my son aware of the work being done on my car and I was happy to pay for his professional services and his kindness. Trust your vehicles with Kingsville Auto Repair. I highly recommend!
