Only needed a car tag removed (didn't have ratchet that fit). This is literally a 5 minute job! They charged $45! If you charge that for a uncomplicated job I will never trust OR refer you for a real one!

Do not, I repeat, do not go to Red Top to get your car fixed! Been going here for the past few years and spent quite a bit of money here. From what I know, he's always done an okay job. I'm talking about the senior mechanic here. His name is Mr. Young. However, I recently took my truck there and asked him to check it out really good because I had just got it back from the police and it had been stolen. I wanted to know if he thought I should keep the truck, if it was salvageable or if the thieves removed parts and damaged the engine. He fixed the light damage and my steering wheel and an exhaust leak and a few other things that needed repair. He told me the engine was in good condition. My father referred him to me a few years back and would always communicate with him when I couldn't, concerning my vehicle. Well my father passed in April. I tried to talk to him and tell him that I was still hearing a rattling noise from when I picked my truck up from him ...and I went to a few other mechanics and they said it was the engine and it would lock soon. I did not understand why Mr. Young didn't tell me I had engine issues but let me spend $877 to fix the other things. Obviously, he nor his employee he had to fix my truck, thoroughly looked over my engine like I asked him to. He was very rude and nasty with me when I addressed it kindly to him. We even went for a test drive and he said that the noise he heard was not a hard knocking engine sound. And when we get back to the shop, he got out of the truck and then said he didn't hear any noise at all. I was shocked that he treated me that way because he never did before and I was shocked that he tried to say that he did not hear any noise and close the garage door down on me. He even brought my deceased father into it by saying that he knows my father and not me and that my father was a nice man and didn't complain. Well that pushed me over the edge as I'm still grieving and I was in tears. And he bold face lied...he knew exactly who I was and I had been to his shop multiple times with and without my father. I am totally taken back by how Mr. Young treated me. And I will NEVER take my truck there again. I'm actually praying for him because reading these other reviews, we have experienced similar. He acts as if he has the onset of dementia..

My fiance and I experienced terrible treatment by the senior mechanic at Red Top. We brought the car in because of a strong odor that is permeating the car. After doing a thorough search to locate the source, we bought the car in to be diagnosed. Before bringing it in, we did internet research to try to identify what the problem could be. Some possible causes mentioned was a leak in the exhaust, mold or mildew in the ac unit, a dead animal trapped in the under carriage, burning oil, etc. When we tried to explain the issue to the mechanic, he told us it wasn't his job to try to identify the issue. He was so rude and disrespectful that it was shocking. He did sit in the car and said it could be anything and that he didn't want to be bothered trying to diagnose the issue. We tried to explain some of the possible causes mentioned so he could check those areas but he refused. I've been bringing my car to Red Top for years and he's never treated me this way. I've also never heard a mechanic say he didn't want to be bothered and it isn't his job to try to diagnose a problem. It's unfortunate because I've been a loyal customer for years and also provided referrals to friends. Not only has he lost a previous customer, he lost the opportunity to gain a new one.

They do the best work. When I am able to get what I need done to my car it continues run smoothly and efficient. The mechanics are dedicated to their job and they get things done. If you need some work done on your vehicle at a fair price, I recommend Red Top Auto.
