Going to start out saying our service advisor, Gerald, was very pleasant to deal with as well as the loaner coordinator Frank. That's about where it ends. We took our car in for a severe misfire. It was put down for a check engine light and all they did was plug in to a code reader and saw a code for a turbo. They used our entire extended warranty on that and we still had to pay $750 out of pocket. Called us and told us it was fixed and I asked if they test drove it before we signed paperwork. They clearly did not as it started doing the same thing we brought it in for. Took it back and was told we would have to pay another diagnostic fee unless we got the work done there. They scoped it and said it was due to carbon build up on the intake valves. We played a walnut blast. Then they said the valve wasn't seating and they said they scoped it and confirmed it was bent. This was going to be a $7700 repair on top of the $5750 (for the turbo I'm not so sure even needed replaced at this point) they had already gotten for the same issue. I asked them twice to not appraise the car on this phone call. I called a local mechanic and described the issue to them which resulted in us going to pick the car up as I no longer felt comfortable with them doing the work. We got it home and discovered they stripped the bolt for one of our coil packs. We also discovered broken plug housings that when we fixed it fixed almost the entire problem. So the car is currently at a local shop that is tracking an electrical issue because they did confirm that it does not have a bent valve. So if we had okayed them to replace the cylinder head it still would not have taken care of the issue. They did only charge us $300 for the walnut blast when we picked up. We took the car to Sheehy because we trusted that it was in the best hands as we had a wonderful experience at the collision center for deer damage previously. We learned this is not the issue and they will take shots in the dark regardless of cost to their customers.

all the repairs they made didn’t work, but they claim on their mothers grave they did (they don’t) so they won’t replace them under warranty, then proceeded to mess my car up so badly it leaks coolant. This should not be a Volkswagen certified place. Do not visit at all costs Edit: they also broke my engine cover when taking it off, and tried to hide it by not giving it back. When they gave it back, they did not mention it was broken. Weeks later when I try and reinstall it, i realize it’s broken

My airbag was recalled so I made an appointment to get it serviced… the service itself was great and I am glad to have a new airbag but if you need something serviced just go somewhere else. After my appointment I was bombarded with text messages from them as well as a text containing an appraisal estimate and photos of damage on my car which I’m pretty sure I did not authorize. I had to wait at the dealership and knowing that they were examining my car while I was waiting to get the airbag replaced is so irritating. Again, if you need something serviced, save yourself some stress and go somewhere else.

Needed work done on a Routan minivan with a bad fuel pump or fuel pump relay that required a dealer level scanner computer. Made the appointment just fine and had to take a day off of work. Brought it in and the service tech said they can’t do anything because a Routan is 90% Chrysler Town and Country with a WV badge. Was referred to Fitzgerald CDJR. Why couldn’t the person making this appointment let me know this and i wouldn’t have wasted a day? The service tech was very nice and apologetic which was appreciated.

I want to share my experience with Sheehy VW of Hagerstown Maryland. On 5/2/2024, I purchased from Sheehy a new 2024 VW Jetta and traded in my 2021 VW Jetta. My 2021 Jetta had an unpaid balance with a local bank. According to the bank they provided Sheehy on 5/2/2024, a payoff price which was good for ten days. However, the bank did not receive the payment until 6/4/2024. During this time, I had to pay interest on my loan for the car I no longer owned and an additional payment on 5/21/2024. Sheehy did refund on 6/11/2024 the difference between the payoff amount on my contract and the actual price they paid to the bank. However, this did not include the interest accrued during this time period and, was less than my 5/21/2024 payment. I did contact VW USA and it is my belief they helped me obtain my refund. I believe there is no reason that it should take a company as large as Sheehy so long to payoff the loan on my trade in. I hope this was an isolated incident but I am concerned this may be happening to others.
