Reached out to South River Auto Service this morning about a check engine light on my daughters car. I was able to drop it off within 20 mins. 2 hours later, Dan called, explained the issue and repair, and had the car back on the road. Highly recommend. Kind, fast and efficient. Thank you so much. I used South River Auto Service for about seven to eight months as I was working in the Edgewater area. This auto service is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. My last and final visit; I brought my car in because it was having transmission problems. I received a call from Dan (the owner) the following day, and he said “your car needs a transmission, good luck finding one.” So being very concerned I said, “what should I do”? He went on to say “well there’s something called the internet.” Okay, what does that mean? “You’re going to want to find a transmission for us to install. I have my best guy out looking for one; he found one in a junkyard, it’s $900 and it’s a crapshoot.” So two weeks of searching and looking for a place with a solid transmission that would be compatible for my car, I did manage to find one and Dan from SRAS said they would be able to do the job. They installed it and when I picked up the car he said “it drives good and shifts good.” So I paid just about $2,000 to South River Auto Service and was under the assumption everything was fixed. Approximately four months go by and the transmission that Daniel Eisel and mechanics installed was already destroyed. If SRAS had been honest and said we will not be able to complete this job; I recommend you take your car to a mechanic specializing in transmissions; that would have been the honorable suggestion for them to make. After all, the money I spent and what I got in return. You will overspend your hard earned money if you take your car to South River Auto Service. Oftentimes, your car will not be fixed properly and you will be left with many issues to come.

Dan was awesome! Took my truck in at the scheduled time and kept me informed of everything along the way. He knew I needed my work vehicle back on the road as soon as possible and he made that happen. Great service at a fair price.

After an unexpected breakdown on my way to work, my car was towed here at the direction of my insurance company. They diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly and at a reasonable price and went above and beyond to help me- making what could have been an absolutely miserable morning quite bearable. I hope to not have more car issues any time soon but if I do I will be back!

I have used Dan @ South River Auto Service a few times now and all have been great experiences. He mounted some tires I received as a gift and more recently he diagnosed an engine issue I was having. I always ask him to look over my truck as well because I know he'll only tell me what needs to be done. Dan is fast, honest, and reliable. Great mechanic for the area.
