Ive been a returning customer at southwestern car care I was recommened by the owner brother. With that being said they were the only mechanics I let work on my car I would drive from Baltimore to Arbutus just to get work done on my car. This time I got the car towed there because my car was shutting off on me They had the car for about 4 days it was the altenator they called me told me come pick up the car everything is fixed I was told the car was test drove also. So I go to pickup the car I paid around 400 thinking everything was fine as I drove about 5-8 mintutes away from the shop the car dies on me again so now im stranded I give them a call telling them what happen they answered with short answers telling me I can bring the car back but they close in 20 min so I had to wait for a tow then ontop of that they were closed and this was on a friday they dont open on weekends so I had to wait until monday. When monday comes I call and they say it everything is fixed it was their fault that it was something minor someone shouldve cheked before giving me the car. 2 weeks later Im having the same problem the car died on me randomIy driving from work which is not only dangerous but irrating to deal with after being told it was fixed. I have not tried contacting them neither will I. With that being said I wont be going back this is unfortunate because I have to get this problem fixed after paying and thinking it was solved clearly not. -Side note I brought a brand new battery before just to be safe and its still not fixed and when I picked up my car my serpetene belt was squeaking which wasnt happening before I dropped it off but I didnt say anything just was going to buy a new one and get it replaced but even as a mechanic if my car is making a squeaking now why not give the customer a option to have it repaired but non the less this was my experience with them No love lost just not how you conduct buisness.

Went there for a front end alignment. The guy pulled the car into the bay and it could not have been more than 10 minutes before he said it was done. Seriously ? 10 minutes for an alignment ? I didn't argue but later on i knew they'd ripped me off. NEVER...EVER going back. What a joke !!!!!

Emergency stop because my brakes went out. He didn't have time/staff to service it but did add brake fluid and confirmed busted brake lines. Was very nice and apologetic about not being able to help.

Southwest Car Care was recommended to me by someone who had nothing but best to say about them, and he as 100 percent correct. They do good work and are the nicest mechanics I’ve met in a long time. 5 stars

I would give a -5 stars if I could! DO NOT GO HERE. (Long read) I brought my car in on Friday August 1st for a popping sound coming from the rear of my car. This sound has been coming from the rear of my car for over a year. (Just progressively got worse). I filled out the online form to Schedule an appointment, and explained everything in there but that clearly was never read. When I tried to explain the problem the employee was extremely short with his answers and did not write anything down. I left while they worked on the car. They called me a few hours later saying the problem was my struts and it would be $1,000 to fix it.(At this point in time they did not tell me it was the front struts). I gave them permission to replace the struts. When I arrived back at the shop, I took my car off the lot and half way home I heard the popping sound again. I immediately called them and said I still heard it. They told me to bring it back on Monday since they are closed on weekends. I brought it back on Monday and waited around untill someone could drive around with me so I could show them the same popping sound from the rear of the car. Immediately as I shifted the car from park to drive the employee heard the Sound and was like oh it's still there. He put it up on the lift and then discovered it was my rear knuckles (a common problem in Malibu's). After looking the part up in the computer, they wanted to charge me an additional $900! I said I shouldn't have to pay since they replaced a part that didn't need to be replaced and I still had the same problem. I took my car and went home. Next day I called back trying to work something out with the shop. I suggested that I would pay for the parts which was around $200 and they would comp the labor. This made the employee lose his mind and immediately started blaming me, saying I told him the front struts needed to be replaced when I dropped the car off on August 1st. That's absolutely insane to start blaming me. Not only did I describe the problem on the appointment scheduler on THEIR website. When I dropped the car off on the 1st, I told them if you push down on the trunk you can hear it pop. So how in the world would that be a front strut issue? A big shout out to Bank of America! I put in a dispute and got my $1000 back for the front Struts I didn't need! Never go here. Worst service ever! I wanted to wait till my claim was completed to post this. I am still out money for the 3 Ubers I had to take and had to take two days off work but this is at least a small victory. Another classic stereotype of the mechanic screwing over people. I still have to fix the popping sound but at this point I will buy the parts myself and have a friend do it.
