The people at Spectra have serviced at least 9 vehicles for my family over the past 20 years, ranging from straight forward maintenance to complex ECU troubleshooting. Always an honest prompt, professional, quality experience at a fair price. I have no reason to go elsewhere.

I went to Spectra Auto Services for a routine synthetic oil change on my 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan. While the oil change itself was reasonably priced, the predatory upsells they tried to push on me were entirely unacceptable. When I went to pay, they handed me an estimate for nearly $800 to "Remove & Replace Lower Engine Oil Pan," claiming my car had a significant oil leak. Because my car is relatively new and I hadn't seen a single drop of oil on my driveway, I declined the service and went to get a second opinion. Since then, my car has been comprehensively inspected by both a highly-rated independent shop (Dynamic Automotive) and an official Volkswagen Dealership service center. Both mechanics independently confirmed that my engine is completely dry and there is absolutely zero oil leaking from my oil pan. Furthermore, Spectra tried to charge me $134.78 to change my cabin air filter (a $10 part that takes three minutes to replace at home) and pushed nearly $500 in unnecessary aftermarket "BG chemical flushes" that my manufacturer doesn't even require. If you go here for an oil change, do not agree to any major repairs without getting a second opinion from an honest mechanic first. They clearly rely on scare tactics to pad their invoices.

I dropped my car off at Spectra because the battery wasn't holding a charge, and after a couple days they quoted me $440-something over the phone for battery replacement. Wat?! Ok. I'll pay the $80 inspection fee (after I'd explicitly told them I was just there for a new battery) to have them release my car so I can take it to another place, also within walking distance, that's doing the job for a reasonable $250. Spectra's prices are cuckoo. Yikes.

I have been going to Spectra for over five years. They are fantastic. I never want to go anywhere else. They are always fair and straightforward and do great work. My car is from 2007 and runs great. I am so happy I found this place.

Daughter’s car is old and we worried about its reliability (20 years old, 200,000 miles). They looked it over, top to bottom, for free, and told us all their recommendations and costs. Mostly just due for some maintenance. We felt we received a very honest assessment and at no charge. Very happy and will bring the car in for the maintenance it needs.
