If you’re looking to get screwed, this is definitely the place. Every single time we bring a vehicle here it takes longer than promised, and somehow we leave with more problems than we came in with. It’s honestly impressive at this point. The intake people are actually great — polite, helpful, and the only reason this place isn’t a complete one-star disaster. Unfortunately, once your vehicle disappears into the parts and service department black hole, that’s where the experience falls apart. Communication disappears, timelines mean nothing, and if it’s even remotely close to closing time, don’t expect anyone to stick around to help you — they’re already halfway out the door. You basically have three options: 1. Go to another dealer and hope they suck less than this one. Hard to say, but the odds might be in your favor. 2. Stop buying Mopar vehicles altogether. I’ve been a lifelong Mopar guy and it honestly pains me to say that, but experiences like this will make you rethink brand loyalty real fast. 3. Skip the warranty circus. Find a mechanic you actually trust and pay them instead of dealing with this headache. At this point it feels less like service and more like a masterclass in how to waste someone’s time.

This is by far the most disappointing experience I’ve encountered. I entrusted the dealership with my vehicle for service and the returned it three weeks later with a dent on the rear bumper. Mind you, they test drove the vehicle on the road and should have done an all around inspection of the car. I escalated my concern to the supervisor Rodger and Director Mike. They gave every excuse in the book and took no accountability saying there is no proof that I didn’t drop off the vehicle with that dent already. I asked for CCTV footage, to which they said they couldn’t back track it to the date I took the vehicle in, May 14th. I also found my Dash Cam disconnected!!! The final solution was offering me $250, which doesn’t even cover half of the bumper. I felt insulated which such offer they gave me!!! This is by far the worst dealership I have dealt with. Please save your time and money, take your business elsewhere.

This service center is truly the biggest joke in Anne arundel county. The employees are far from professional, management is unhelpful (and also very unprofessional), and the service is never done in a timely manner. Within the recent years we have become very dissatisfied with this location and the services they provide. I’ve never been quoted a service that was less than $600 for my mopar vehicles. Want warranty coverage? Good luck. Lemon laws? No chance- they don’t skip training the employees to word their claims differently so no lemon law could be utilized. I’ve also spent tons of hours in their facilities while waiting for service and it doesn’t feel very cozy while waiting- during the winter it’s usually very chilly, the snacks are limited, and the employees come in to complain more than they work. For example, while waiting for an oil change one day (which took 3.5 hours, but that’s besides the point), I saw the same 2 employees come in for coffee 4 times and heard conversations pertaining the service they provide that made me second guess coming back. It’s unfortunate because we have been coming here for over 10 years, and our family for longer. We have bought many vehicles from this dealer, sent all of our vehicles here for service, and every referred many people to this business. It’s gone downhill and we cannot wait to use this last oil change package so we can go to a different facility where we would feel more taken care of.

Update February 2025: I take back my previous glowing review. We were told my vehicle received a full "de-carbon," yet my actual year/make/model does not even qualify for such a service, especially for such low miles. Roger, the Service Manager, stated their cameras did not go past one week therefore he could not even prove the Technician, Will, did the service written on the service write-up. This is already concerning as warranty repairs require a certain level of liability and tracking ie: video footage. Thankfully, we took numerous photos of the filthy engine bay, head gasket, injectors, etc, that were reportedly touched and addressed by the Technician and a helper. We've contacted the warranty company, filed a complaint and even had several other automotive professional provide feedback and all came to the same conclusion. Additionally, the polite service Brian provided initially was gone when we attempted to discreetly discuss our concerns with him. He refused to step into a private area, or outside, and passed us off to Roger, the Service Manager. We knew this matter was sensitive, yet were passed off as if we were a problem, despite trying to be as discreet as possible. Brian didn't seem to care about my concerns about the work, or lack of work as written on the service sheet. Roger was polite on the phone in our follow-up call, and I see he will back his Technician, but the photos show the evidence - the work on the write-up is not what was completed on my vehicle. This is unacceptable and unfortunate. No, I will never return to Tate Dodge Service, and I do not recommend the company. I understand the negative reviews now. Original January 2025 review: Jeep owner here and I recommend Tate Service Center. Brian H., my Service Advisor, was fantastic to work with! He was friendly, communicative, transparent and my vehicle was complete within a week. I brought my 2019 JL Wrangler in because I was experiencing a bunch of mechanical issues following an accident, and the service team determined that although the accident didn't cause the mechanical issues, my Jeep still had Powertrain warranty and they completed a hefty service that would have been about $5,000 to me for free (under the warranty). To be sure there were no issues, I drove my Jeep 175 miles the weekend after picking it up and all was well, absolutely zero concerns and the dash lights are all off/back to normal. I saw negative reviews about the organization and can confidently say my experience was very, very positive. If you're in need of thorough, prompt service Tate Dodge is an exceptional choice! Thank you Brian for the polite and positive experience, and to the technician who fixed my prized vehicle for me!

I have received an oil change, tire rotation, diagnostics, supposedly a 56-point inspection, amongst other services from this service department. The staff is very friendly, but every time I come here I leave with a bigger issue less than a week later. I struggle with texting them as requested by them because as soon as I advise them of the new issues immediately after service, the line goes static again. Calling the office during regular hours can be a hit or miss as I'm sure they get really busy - I understand that. However, a week shouldn't pass by and no one has returned a call. I've called three days in a row, including Saturday where you have to call a different number, but still nothing. I pay enough attention to my car to know when something's off and every time I've left this specific location, there was always something else that was either overlooked, created in the process of the work they did, or just ignored with no response. Last summer I spent $1,200+ for services and in less than a week I was experiencing new resistance with my car than before I took it in for unrelated services. It seemed as though I took it in for someone to vandalize my vehicle to perpetuate my need for more services as if I don't go to the dealership for all my services anyways. Complete letdown :-( Most recently, I went for an oil change, tire rotation, and a plug all to have been told that there was "residual" spillage somewhere under the hood of my car. Instead of looking into that, they wrote it off as something that likely spilled from last summer's services... Not even a full week later, my car is overheating when I drive 35mph in a 55mph zone. I can barely make the drive to the dealership without fear that my car is going to start smoking underneath the hood and blow up... Yes, perhaps I'm overexagerrating on that part but it's because I've never experienced this before. I've never been so scared to drive my own car (locally)... and to constantly spend my time and money at a place that clearly doesn't show the same concern for my mode of transportation as I do is disappointing. Yet and still, I've been told to keep the car simply because of the warranty that I purchased with it. Apparently, they don't make the Lifetime Warranty the same anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love my Jeep, I do what I can to take care of my car because [she] takes care of me, and I've had a Jeep in my family for over 2 decades, but with lackadaisical care it causes me to wonder if it's worth keeping a relationship with a CDJR entity anymore. I hope this review doesn't offend anyone, I hope more people are getting quality care at service departments than I am, but I really hope this review finds the person it needs to reach so that we (and our vehicles) can get the quality care and quality services we deserve and that we ultimately end up paying for regardless of any warranty. Warm regards, T.D. PS. This review was submitted via my business account in the case my profile isn't recognized as a customer of CDJR. Know that I am.
