I ordered tires off tirerack. Making an appointment was easy. free wifi, cleanish bathroom while you wait. work appears to be done well. I was up sold road force balancing for $10. But when I got my bill, it was $10 a tire. I fell for the bait and switch.

I had an unfortunate encounter with a raised seam in the pavement or a pothole or possibly a gremlin on nearby 29 and got a flat. Roadside assistance put my spare (just a donut) on my car, but I live just far enough away that I wanted to see if I could get the tire patched before heading home. Thanks to good reviews, I ended up here. I'm really grateful that I did. Neither Wilson nor any other tire place seems to regularly stock the right size tires for my car, but these guys immediately figured out that the tires a dealership had told me were in great shape a month prior were each going bad in a variety of delightful and, when they pointed them out (in the garage, where my car was on a lift), visibly obvious ways. The tire behind the front passenger flat had a huge sidewall bubble (probably from the same bump) that roadside assistance hadn't seen. The driver's side front was balding on the outer edge. I can't even remember what was up with the driver's side rear, but it too was problematic, and the flat had sidewall damage and couldn't be patched. This left me in a bit of a pickle about how to get home before winter weather rolled in, especially as my charming spouse had chosen this day to lose his keys. But the gentlemen who operate Wilson Tire, after suggesting competitor after competitor I could call to check tire stock for the better part of an hour, had an idea. They were changing the tires for another car, and they were in good enough shape, and nearly the right size, so that they thought they could swap one of those discarded tires with the bubbling one of mine. And it worked. For around $30. They wouldn't take more. I tried. If these guys weren't the quiet types, you get the strong impression they could knowledgeably reboot Car Talk. I got home safe in the slow lane, and got my local place to order tires that fit right foot the next day. Noteworthy: they also asked if I'd like to change the channel on the waiting area tv right when I got there are were cool with me turning it off. The radio was playing the mid-late 1980s music of my youth. Folks around Laurel, if I lived where you do, I wouldn't go anywhere else.
