I find it hard to believe the negative reviews. I started going here when I moved to the area over 10 years ago because my brother and sister-in-law highly recommended him. Rich is great and always talks me through what I have to get done, giving me options for quality and cost (as in tire type or oil type or that I can wait a while to get x fixed if I want, but then I'll have to address it next time). His work quality is always great and prompt. It's a fantastic place to get your vehicle worked on.

I have been using Twinbrook Auto for over 15 years. I drive older vehicles with a lot of miles on the vehicles. Rich (the owner) is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. He always tells me the least expensive solution and his work is always done right. I live 40 miles away and take my vehicle to Rich when it needs major work because he is the best, most honest mechanic that you will ever know.

I never commented online but this shop offered really disappointing service. I hope my post can help people be aware of what kind of service they can expect. I visited this auto shop several times because of its proximity to Metro. One day, my car’s temperature gauge read too high and I went over there. Richard, the owner, promised me to fix the problem. I was told by him that I needed to replace the coolant and several other things which cost me around $400. One month later, the same problem came back and this time I was shocked to be told that it was my water pump's problem and to fix that I need to pay over $700! I asked him politely if there could be any other ways around because after all it is him who promised to fix the problem in the first place. How come I can trust him, after I wasted $400, and believe the problem will never come back again? He said that this is the best he could do and if I do not like his offer, I can go for others. Thank to his suggestion, I find another shop nearby which help me fix the problem at half his price. Now, my car has been functioning well in the past 5 months. I don’t think I will ever come back again if anything.

Reasonable prices, great communication with clear explanation of the problems and possible solutions, fast service, walkable to the metro, honest… what more could you ask for in a mechanic?
