Frustrating experience with declining service standards I’ve been a long-time Costco member and usually appreciate the value they offer, but my recent experiences at the Tire Center have been very disappointing. Their scheduling system is completely messed up — even with an appointment, it took over 4 hours to get my vehicle serviced. To fix a flat tire, it incredibly took 28 hours. Even more concerning, last month they forgot to put back the wheel lock nut after servicing. While they later ordered a replacement when I complained, that’s a serious safety lapse that shouldn’t happen in the first place. Costco has always been known for saving customers money — but they need to remember that time is money too. The Tire Center should focus on saving customers’ time and maintaining the high service standards that used to set Costco apart. I really hope management looks into this and improves scheduling efficiency, service quality, and attention to detail. Costco can and should do better.

Costco Tire Center installed my 2005 Honda Civic EX tires recently. The whole process was straightforward. l ordered the tires at the Fairfax warehouse in person and made appointment for installation when the tires were delivered to the warehouse. Installation took about one and half hours which was a dramatic improvement over old procedures. The saving at Costco Tire Center is significant with promotional discount, 5-year road hazard warranty, free inflation and torque check, balance and rotation. The technicians are proficient. The staffs at reception counter are polite and efficient. The new Michelin Defender T+H tries are great with smooth and comfortable rides. Finally the 25-mile torque check for new tires is done ✅ quickly without further appointment. It is a highly recommended safety check for new tires.

Giving 3 stars just because I was very lucky having Michael D. served me both times (when I made appointment and pickup). He was amazing with customer service. I never had this great of customer service anywhere ,even from the Toyota dealership. When he made appointment for me to have my car tire replacement, he went beyond my normal expectations, he explained how the system works, from the time I placed tire order (they did not have them available in house right away), what to expect after the order was placed, and what to expect when he made the installation appointment for me, etc. ALL the details that customers should know. He was the only one I know and lucky to be served by when coming to car maintenance works, not only from costco but anywhere else. Normally, Costco tire center employees, they gave impression of urging customers to finish and get out asap, so they went over things with customers as fast as possible (when they are working with customers, NOT the ones waiting in line). Michael was imazing and impressive with his customer service attitude (communicative, polite, and patience), which are extremely lacked or rare at Costco Tire Centers. Costco should have more employees like Michael D.🙏 1st star off: the phone number listed on my receipt (same with listing online) to call, we called like 50 times to check on my tire order, no one answered. We never received an email nor phone call about the status of my order (even I was told to expect my order comes the next day). ~5 day passed, I had to go to the center in person to check and found out it was available, system showed someone emailed out but seems like did not hit send button or something (I literally did not receive the email about the availability of the tires, I did received the order confirmation email after placing the order). They have the Tire Center phone number but it looks like they mute all the phones on the counter, I tried to call while waiting in line and none of the phone rang. What is the point of having the phone number for? You literally lied to customers by putting the phone number but don't want to answer the phone calls, why don't you just put the phone number on the receipts (to LOOK more professional and business like) and a note right next to that number like "your phone calls most likely will not be answered", that way customers know not to call and waste their time. 2nd star off - regardless of customers waiting in line, very long line, Tires Center employees just dropped everything and walked out to take their breaks or something. I understand everyone deserves their breaks but at least, take turn, don't just all take break at the same time and let the customers waiting during the "unannounced closed hour". Seems like Costco don't put much attention to build a good Tire Center, rather they think customers need them, so customers just have to put up with whatever negatives happen at the Tire Center. So disappointed with the way Costco doing business.

I have been a Costco customer for 15+ years and have use their tires service for about the same. In the last few years, seems like everything have down down hill. I will never buy another tires from Costco (Time/Prices/Services) are all bad. Used out my warranty and not coming back. Shopping experience @ Costco is also going south! might discontinue our membership. Looks like the exec that run this chain forgot about what made them successful.

Don't purchase tires at this location (Fairfax). We had to wait over 11 days to replace 4 tires. First the person who helped us told us it will take 2 to 3 days, yet they took 10 days to get there. Once we dropped of the car, they realized they were the wrong size. We ended up getting a different brand but the inexperienced person made a mistake and saved the tires on someone else names...not once anyone apologize for the inconvenience. Horrible customer service.
