A few months ago I experienced one of the worst nightmares a vehicle owner could experience. My 6.0 powerstroke had catastrophic engine failure. I didn’t want to let the truck go so I had reached out to Rob at Nelson Automotive and put a plan together to get my truck up and running again. Not even a week after the motor arrived the truck was already running. There were some kinks in the beginning that were fixed but specifically from aftermarket part manufacturers. My transmission went out as well and Nelson got a new one put in swiftly. I was able to witness their excellent work and dedication to getting my truck back running 100% as quick as possible. Their customer service is also excellent. I’ve had no issues since having the truck back. I’d highly recommend Nelson for all your vehicle troubles.

Wednesday, I had breakfast at the IHOP in Hybla Valley and noticed a pick up that seemed to be missing running boards. I asked the gentleman who was getting out if he had running boards and he said that he did but he just broke the driver side power step board by hitting an ice patch in a parking lot. I told him immediately that I had just done the same damn thing on my passenger side This guy then told me don’t even consider going anywhere else to fix it other than Nelson’s automotive in Chantilly I thanked him for the advice and for his conviction. When I got my table, I immediately called Nelson‘s automotive and the lady on the other end was so impressive with her advice. I have had it checked out by someone the afternoon before who told me the running board had been severely bent, and the bolts coming from the truck body itself were Also stripped and bent, and wasn’t sure what it would need or if it could be fixed with a new power running board. The running board (power) Would cost more than $1700 for the part alone and the labor unknown. I asked if we could just remove the running board would put eyes on it to diagnose what was needed. He told me I would have to wait another 3 to 5 weeks before they could get me in to do that. I drove nearly 1 hour away that afternoon to Nelson‘s automotive without an appointment, The owner asked for my keys and put it up on the lift . Rob showed me the picture and actually invited me back to the shop while my ram 1500 was still up on the lift. He showed me and described what needef l to be done and that the running board had not been bent or damaged. He explained that he could reinforce the bolts coming out of the floor and how he would plan to do it One hour later the running board was completly repaired and solid as ever. I weigh 240 pounds and could not feel any movement as I jumped on it. For all his expertise iand time, he quoted me only $150. after the work was Done he billed me even less than the estimate. I actually wanted to pay him even more than what he quoted since he had saved me at least $1000. But he refused to accept more. Just like the guy told me at hybla valley, In front of Ihop” Don’t even consider going somewhere else” That was the best advice a stranger has given me in years.
