I brought my vehicle in for an inspection and was charged a much higher fee than other mechanics (my fault for not asking first). Then my vehicle failed the inspection and I was quoted $1500 for repairs. I brought my vehicle to the dealership the next day and there was nothing wrong with it. No repairs needed at all.

I think the service was good and was able to get me in immediately, but most expensive oil change in the country for the entry level oil offered. Website shows 60 something dollars for a regular oil change. Most expensive option shows 90 something. They charged me close to 170 for a basic oil change. Even with 3 more quarts than normal I needed to get, doesn’t justify. I don’t know why it’s so expensive here for oil that is super cheap anywhere else. Dealership charges half the price. Wont be returning for that reason alone. Also for a full synthetic oil change, I don’t know why my sticker says change in 5k miles. Full synthetic oil changes give you at least 8-10k miles. Overall, I left feeling like I was taken advantage of. I would have made it my regular oil change spot because everything else was great. But sometimes I feel like I am charged more because I look like I can afford it. I could be wrong and they pay too much for their oil. But I wouldn’t advertise it on the website at all significantly lower price than I’m verbally given. Anyways, service is good.

I’m sorry other reviewers had an off experience but from start to finish, I had kind and professional interactions and the team had me in and out in hours. Thank you again for making the time for my urgent state inspection. Great group here…I will be back for all my vehicle tasks. Happy holidays gang!

They have done everything from state inspections to tires to a small lift on our Jeep, to name a few. Anytime we have had a concern, they have addressed it quickly and professionally. I highly advise that you do not get your car inspected by Potomac Auto Care. My inspection failied after buying a 2022 automobile in 2025 and they wanted to charge me $2400 to repair. I brought back to the dealership who made the repairs at no charge but said the repairs were not necesary (all the brakes and 4 new tires). And if I needed these repairs they would not cost $2400. It finally passed and then they did not do the paperwork properly and I had to meet with the MD State Troopers office to correct the VIN number. Come to find out they were actually certified to do inspections, although the advertise they are able to inspect for MD. I also was charged twice which for the second inspection. They are simply dishonest. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
