I came in with my husband's car, and was very impressed. Been in a couple times over a few years. Tony obviously trys to bring the best people to his shop and it shows. This time his customer service was better than before. Eric is new, and very knowledgeable. Didn't mind me asking alot of questions. He got our car right in, and made me feel welcome. Many shops around here leave alot to be desired, and do not feel welcoming. But Va auto service from start to finish is the best I have seen.

Save your time and go to Burke Auto Service Experts. I made a $630 mistake by going to the cheaper place. I came for a TPMS Replacement in all four tires. I was charged $640 for parts and labor. Upon receiving my truck back, the warning light on the dash was still was still on. I asked the owner and he told me you need to take it to a dealership to fix completely. I did just that and was quoted $630 to fix the issues they started. Image was taken in the parking lot and they would not re-look at my truck.

Avoid VA Auto Service of Fairfax – Dishonest, Overpriced, and Predatory Practices My experience with VA Auto Service of Fairfax has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I would strongly recommend that anyone considering their services look elsewhere. They took complete advantage of my situation while I was serving overseas, leaving my wife stranded and our family with a massive, unapproved bill. Here is a summary of the issues we faced: Unauthorized Repairs and Overcharging My wife brought the car in after our daughter hit a curb. The initial process with the insurance company and the adjuster seemed fine. I explicitly texted the garage and the adjuster confirmed with them that no work was to be done without insurance approval and my authorization. Despite these clear instructions, VA Auto Service performed thousands of dollars of "supplemental" work and used parts that were explicitly not the ones recommended by our insurance company. The insurance adjuster informed me that the shop charged nearly double the industry standard for labor and used different parts to inflate the bill. They proceeded without anyone's approval—not the insurer's, not mine—and then expected us to foot the bill. Predatory Tactics and Bullying Because I was overseas and my wife needed the car for daily life, they knew we were in a vulnerable position. While I was attempting to coordinate the insurance company's review of the unauthorized charges, the garage began aggressive collection tactics. I received texts demanding immediate payment to get "their money," threatening to start charging daily storage fees. Incredibly, another employee contradicted this by assuring me as a "family business" they had plenty of parking and no storage fees would apply. They are clearly not on the same page, creating confusion and massive stress. We felt forced to pay the extra $2,000 just to release our vehicle. New Damage and Evasive Customer Service To make a terrible situation worse, my wife noticed a significant new scratch on the passenger side door when she picked up the car that was not there before drop-off. When I inquired, they immediately claimed their intake photos proved the scratch was preexisting. I asked to see these photos. They sent me every single angle of the car except the passenger side door. When I pointed this out and asked specifically for a passenger-side view upon intake, they sent me a photo taken after all the repairs and new tires were installed. They promised their "boss" would provide the original intake photo days later, but they have since gone silent and I have received nothing. This business is dishonest, overpriced, unprofessional, and takes advantage of customers in difficult situations. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable shop.

My recent experience at Va auto service, was odd. First the guy at the front desk Eric is very nice. I came in with a Friends car and they have brought their car in several times. Eric explained they were busy and it would be a few hours. Later i get a text from someone with a laundry list of things from coolant to brake fluid. They seemed pushy about selling me more. So I called and Eric answers, and explain its not my car, and I can not afford all this other stuff. At that same time a text again comes in while on the phone with Eric. So I think they got someone else selling stuff and being pushy. With Eric trying to help the customers. News flash I run a business. The guy I see in the office is the only person who should be calling or texting. You got a very friendly and knowledgeable guy up front. He seems more than capable, and a very relatable guy. If I need anything I expect to hear from him. He seems honest. I would prefer dealing with him, without someone else being involved. From what I seen the mechanics are great, and do a good job. Eric is the kind of guy I want as the face of my company. Let him be the face of the company, let him talk to the customers. He is relatable, from Montana. Well traveled and treats everyone the same. Thats hard to find. A rare person. He later explained to me why certain things were needed. I hear alot of good things about the owner I believe he is Tony. So with good mechanics, and Eric up front, why do they have someone else trying to push things? Is it just bad communication, not telling Eric what needs done? Is the mechanic texting customers? Why is customer information going to anyone beyond the guy up front or the owners office?

UPDATE: Talked with Tony (Owner) and a new employee up front had made a mistake with the quote. What I don't understand is... clerk and manager was communicating prices going in and out from the workshop door. It would be great if someone exeperienced in pricing/services is always up front. Old Post: Folks I cannot stress this enough but ALWAYS get a second quote/estimate from a different mechanic (trustworthy). Went for a battery change and they quoted me $660! Just for the battery replacement along with labor of 2 hrs! A simple battery change does not take longer than 30 min labor. Ridiculous! Had to argue with the clerk up front for such ludicrous quote and walked out with $349 in payment.
