Outstanding service at VA Tire & Auto – South Riding! I had an incredible experience with the team, especially Tom, who truly went above and beyond. I was having trouble getting my car to pass emissions so I could renew my tags, and Tom personally stepped in to help. He actually drove my car nearly 200 miles to make sure everything ran properly and the emissions system was ready for testing. Thanks to his dedication and effort, the car passed and I was able to renew my registration without further stress. It’s rare to find that level of commitment and customer care these days. Tom didn’t just fix a problem—he made the whole process easy and showed genuine pride in helping his customer. The entire staff was professional, friendly, and clearly cares about doing things the right way. If you’re looking for honest, reliable auto service with people who truly stand behind their work, I highly recommend VA Tire & Auto in South Riding. Thank you again, Tom, for going the extra mile—literally!

If I could give this location zero stars, I would. The negligence I experienced here could have caused catastrophic damage to my vehicle. I brought my car in for a coolant pressure test at their own recommendation. My appointment was scheduled for 1:30 PM. By 3:30, I still hadn’t heard from them, so I called and was told it would take another hour. By 5:15, I showed up in person (since the shop closes at 6 PM and I wasn’t leaving my car overnight). At the counter, they had no update until a man—whom I assume was the manager—finally checked and told me the technician noted the car was “holding pressure all day” with no leaks. I paid my bill and left. The very next day, while running errands, I noticed splash marks on the side of my hood. Not long after, my car began to overheat dangerously. When I pulled over and opened the hood, I found the radiator cap sitting next to the radiator valve—not installed where it should have been. Their technician had failed to put it back on after testing. This kind of careless mistake could have severely damaged my engine. I completed their corporate survey, and the manager did call me. However, instead of taking accountability, he insisted there was “no way” his tech would let a car leave without the cap replaced and claimed he would review their shop cameras. I even sent them a photo of the radiator cap exactly where I found it. That was the last I heard from them. In the meantime, I had to take my car to the dealer to ensure no long-term engine damage had been done. Bottom line: Do NOT trust this shop with your vehicle. If a technician can forget something as basic—and critical—as replacing a radiator cap, and management responds with denial instead of responsibility, that should tell you everything you need to know. Save yourself the risk, stress, and potential thousands in repairs. Go somewhere else.

Thank you!! Excellent customer service! Came in at close of business b/c I thought I had a low tire. Manager (Thomas) was so kind to come out and personally take a look. While the tire was fine, he caught that my state inspection was much past expiration! Got in the next day and Tom (front desk associate) was so helpful, organized & considerate - he had the crew do state inspection, a tire check, and even replaced my key FOB battery. Allowing me to wait for the car, he gave a realistic & honest time frame (I was so grateful that they were even faster than I had thought!). Thank you for your reliability, attention to detail, & focus on driver safety!

My family and I have been coming here for years and for the most part the service has been okay but today was the final straw. We've had oil changes, transmission fluid, rotations, alignments, basically everything under the sun including new tires (which is in their name so you'd expect it to be good). About a year ago, I took my car for an oil change and got it back with the under tray missing. I drive on a lot of dirt roads and there are a lot of delicate components I damn near damaged (in. my front pipe) because it was never reinstalled. I ended up buying one for about $100 off Amazon. But today was the last straw for us. My brother took his car in for new tires yesterday morning, and we were supposed to have it back yesterday evening at 6pm--didn't happen. He ended up picking his car up sometime this morning/early afternoon and driving all the way home with some minor vibrations that only got worse as the day went on. Fast forward to this evening when he realizes that something is seriously wrong. His car was thumping, becoming more violent as he went through turns. I assumed it was just that VA Tire either didn't balance the wheels right or at all, so I told him to come back home from his quick errand ASAP. To our surprise, it wasn't a balancing issue. I hopped in and went around the block when he got back and could immediately feel a harsh vibration whenever he turned or got up to speed--so bad we didn't even make it to the next street over we had to turn around back. After I went and checked the first three wheels' lug nuts, I made it to the front right wheel and lo and behold FOUR of the five lug nuts were essentially falling off. Only the wheel locking lug nut was tightened on. We quickly jacked the car up, checked for cross threading (there was none), and retightened the lug nuts. Took the car for a spin around the block and fixed the issue--an issue that should not have happened for the hundreds of dollars we spent to change his tires. TL;DR do NOT come to VA Tire South Riding unless you either do not value your life or are okay with your wheels coming off at highway speeds. I am going in to speak to someone about this issue first hand tomorrow morning because this cannot happen again. The front desk staff are lovely, but I would not trust the techs to do something as basic as remount a wheel. EDIT: A few things I forgot to add. It's not a necessity but you'd expect from a bigger name like VA Tire that they'd have some quality control process, but my brother's brand new tires had dirt all over the side walls and he even had dirt in the pattern of tire tread on the back of his bumper too somehow. I just find it so crazy that a locally renowned place with "tire" in the name would allow for such loose quality control and inspection.
